My QS wheels are a little run down and kerbed. Ideally they need a refurb, but I also have a cunning plan.

Back at my parents, sitting in their garden is a set of wheels which I had fitted to a previous car that are in far better condition. The wheels in question are RS6 replicas (yes I know), they are 18x8 with an offset of 42 and a PCD of 5x112. From what I can calculate I believe that they will stick 6mm further out that than the standard Sport alloys. Will this be to much I wonder, and since I will be transferring the current 245 wide tyres over am I likely to have rubbing issues?.

Thats correct they will sit 6mm further out than the standard QS wheels, but shouldnt be an issue - there is quite a bit of gate before you will rub, more like 20mm plus with standard wheels. Should actually look quite nice as it will bring all 4 wheels out a tad.

I had 275mm 9" FE wheels on 15mm spacers on the front of mine last year and still didnt rub on the wheel arch, they actually rubbed on the arch liner first where I had lowered the front +++

Well I did it, have had the RS wheels fitted and I must say they look good. The fact they fill the arches better is great.
