12 Plugs were not cheap around £210 for a full set

I did mine one side at a time. first thing to do is take off the maf and the connection pipe

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_114833.jpg

do this on both sides

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_114848.jpg

Remove the Two T30 Torx head bolts and the half will split, the hoses are just slipped on and easy to remove

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_115250.jpg

i found a broken pipe so i fixed that while i was there

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_125223.jpg

you can see where the oil from the breather was leaking a tad so i cleaned that up too

On to coil removal

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_120139.jpg

They are simple to take out only pushed in place they are new as they were done under a recall just before the new engine was fitted

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_121037.jpg

Repeat for all the plugs

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_125241.jpg

Hear you can see the 2011 Stamped engine :D

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_125434.jpg

The repared pipe back in place

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_130641.jpg

Reverse to put it back together

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_130647.jpg

And now for the other side

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_132402.jpg

Same as the other side only this time you will have to remove the oil filler spout to be able to remove the number 7 coil pack

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_132652.jpg

one 10MM bolt as you can see

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_132652.jpg

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_132845.jpg

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_132850.jpg

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_132855.jpg

You can see the different angles that form the W between pistons

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_134239.jpg

Again reverse the steps to re assemble

http://i866.photobucket.com/albums/ab221/daviesbike/20121025_114848.jpg

Its quite easy and may save you quite a fair amount of money to do it yourself audi would charge £500+ for this simple process

I will do some more when i get a chance maybe the full oil change and air filters. +++

Good guide, £210 for a set of plugs! I think I paid £90ish for my set of genuine Audi RS 2 plugs (which is what I use in my RS 6) and I thought that was pricey. What NM did you tighten the plugs to?

Sorry to bring bad news but you need to do more shopping around. There is set of 12 genuine Audi PZFR6J-11 for £50 on e-bay. NGK PZFR6J-11 are about £8 a piece in retail and £13 from dealers. Looks like you found the most expensive place to buy them.

I've just come across this plug change guide and wanted to thank daviesbike for such clear information. I've googled W12 plug changes often and never seen this - best info yet for when I eventually attempt it on my nearly 60,000m SWB W12 - it''ll be due at around 70k. Well done - even the torque values! Don't suppose you remember how the old ones looked compared with the new? It's such a big job one is tempted to leave it a bit longer than the manfacturers spec!
