Always get told that running a "big car" will be expensive

Serviced the car over the weekend, Bosch spark plugs plus air and cabin filters all came in at £40. Fitted them myself and then today the car went into a local specialist for an oil service.

He charged £86 all in so not bad really for everything at £126.

What oil did they use?
I'm sure an oil change on mine costs well over £100 for the oil alone. :o

Quantum Platinum oil 5W-40 costs me anywhere between 18 and 25 for 5 litres depending on any offers that are running at the time. The 8 takes around 7 - 8 liters so you'll end up with some for top ups.
£100 for oil alone sounds a touch over the top to me. I'd be more than happy to do oil and filter change with genuine parts for £100, and i'll make you a cuppa and a bacon sarnie while you wait.

Good man +++ these things are easy to service yourself and should be no more expensive because they're big.

Not a bad rate - helps to know someone who works selling car parts at times tho ;)
