View Full Version : Big brake warning in DIS and loud beeps!

Yesterday evening I set off on a short journey, all seemed OK.
Drove about 250 metres uphill, turned left at a T-junction then almost immediately right onto a more major (B) road and put my foot down a bit to pull out.

The big red brake warning display lit up in the DIS along with three warning beeps.
But it went out immediately and then nothing unusual was showing at all in the display, not even in the top strip.
Completed the journey normally.

Did a few more short trips through the evening and all was completely normal. Even tried a few "brisk" manoeuvres but no dramas at all.

Haven't had time to check for codes with VCDS yet (or look at anything else) but any thoughts anyone?

Could be low fluid level

If it's on a big acceleration, sounds more like fluid level

It looks like "lowish" fluid combined with maybe an over-sensitive level sensor.
It was just below halfway between Min and Max, I'd say at least 40% of that range, so "should" be fine.

Topped up to about 80% of the range, hopefully that's it and is just down to pad/disc wear. I'll monitor it over the next few days.
