Definitive guide to opening a stuck boot

No key available to open the boot of this car. Tried supplying power through the passenger footwell. Got power okay but the open-boot button didn't respond at all.

This is how I did it -

Not the boot lid, thankfully.

I'd probably have pulled or punched out the keyhole and surround then yanked on the release cable.
Probably only needed a big screwdriver and a hammer. ;)
