Required by the circuit. Presumably so they can drag you out of the way quickly if necessary.

My Photos of the day. Thanks to everyone. It was a great day. I hope these photos upload okay. Never done this before

Nice photos...my thoughts as follows:

1. Sad that I missed it, just too far for a short(ish) meeting, with the NEC event coming soon after

2. As pointed out at the summer event, these meets seem to be veering towards almost being S8s only

3. It's a lovely cross section of D2s - lots of colours, lots of variants

4. Is that the rear of a Lesserspotted Reffro I can see on one of the later photos? (16 or 17, or thereabouts)

Thanks for loading - a good first-time effort +++

It was, he came by bike! Never heard him referred to as a lesser anything though. :Confused:

Great day out at ADI

As one who took part in the track day, I would like to say thanks to Neil for organising/publicising this event and to fellow A8 owners who are such a friendly and informed group of people. Made to feel very welcome (even as the only D3) and embarrassed it wasn't as clean as most there, but it did go well on track with 120mph showing in several places.

To misquote david's 8 I think - the wonderful smell of hot brakes when car returned to paddock! Yes they got very hot and took a few laps to settle in after a frightening "will she stop or not" at the chicane, but 8 sessions (nearly 2 hours track time) with my son in law and it kept taking the punishment. Undertray dropped and dragged on ground (removed) and we have a small oil leak to investigate.

For any other track day novices, have a go and get the instructor, David da Costa to go out with you and improve your driving style. For £15 quid, best instruction I ever had and same price as a track session.

Looking forward to next year already! Any one who has photos of my car on track, would love to see them. Fairly sure it was the biggest vehicle on the track actually driving competitively.

Thanks to everyone.

The D3 does look at home on a track +++

I arrived about 3:00pm just as most people were heading off and the weather unfortunately turned but was good to see who was there and drool over everyone's cars as usual

Fair play for taking it out all day on the track looked immense out there and looked like alot of fun, the smoking brakes was a highlight of the day but the car goes really well, hopefully you get the small oil leak sorted and be back next year

I really think we should book the parade lap as a group next time or at least all plan to get out there at the same time with the others roll on the next year +++

Love the colour on the blue German car, and that light green one really stands out too. They all look good but these two are particularly nice. Currently in Portugal in a Clio estate so missing my Audis:(
