Drilling out snapped bolts with a tool to create a perfect guide hole for a larger bit, then creating a mini piston in a very tight spot to push out an ABS sensor! Bravo!
And then doing that when most people are snuggling up on the sofa watching the evening tele :respekt:

+1 to what Dean said, although he did miss out on the other crucial job MJ is doing as well, and that is finding the time to photograph and document what she's doing.

Is Botang's Hole on the to do list MJ? Should be easy with the electrics out

Botang's hole is done +++ That's how I discovered the wiper mechanism was worn out.

I should have known you'd have it sorted! :)

amazing work Michaela what cleaning products and methods are you using on the alloy parts? anything i try is useless or to harsh. Dave

Degreaser then Machine Mart aluminium cleaner which is acid-based. Spray on, work in with a washing up brush, repeat 2-3 times, wash off with water. If there is corrosion on the surface, work in the cleaner with a fine wire brush. I'm quite lucky with this one - there is very little oxidisation on the engine since it's all been so oily!

This evening's pinch bolt removal went rather better.

Start off like this again:

then keep winding the nut and it pulls the bolt out of the hole. Add more washers and carry on

Cut a couple of cm off the bolt otherwise it gets stuck on the steering arm, and repeat the process

Eventually the bolt will start turning with the nut. At that point it can be punched out

(there's a prize for whoever guesses who was keeping me company in the workshop tonight btw :D )

Both uprights are ready to be cleaned up and re-fitted so I put the new control arms on.

CV boots on both front shafts tomorrow then put the uprights and brakes back on.

I wonder how many people actually know Botang, or can put a first name to him. I bet he's no idea of his fame !!

He often comes to our Christmas meets at the Leopard Inn, and usually brings his Supercharged D2 as well! I think he has bought a Tesla Model S as well recently . . . +++

Unfortunately, it wasn't me. Wish I was getting my hands dirty.
Was it a cat? Our was it a person who owns the legs in one of the photos?
