2 things that got me interested

Gearbox service done by makes Glasgow last Oct

heated windscreen installed
It would help id you had more details in description, some pictures and the price you have in mind. Even with heated windscreen and gearbox service done it would need to be very cheap for me to consider given large distance and the fact that I already own S8 but would help other interested parties.

Isn't there a full description of this car somewhere on here? I recall it has some pretty special history and mods, but I know that Gordon may not be the most expressive person on-line.

Brian - I bet you can find it!

I know that the gearbox service was done at Mackies in Glasgow, the same ZF specialist that I use, so you can be assured that that was done just as it should be.

If we can help Gordon find the full description of the mods, I'm sure it will find a buyer on here

There probably is but I could not be bothered to search for it as it would most likely be too expensive for me anyway considering travel distance and new members might not know about it.

Is this the car?

Thanks Jim your correct I'm not good at putting words into text.thats why I tell serious could be buyers to phone me for info.
After 3 years on more you would think I know
How to put pictures on but as you can see still no clue.
The car still has all the things Ian did to her.i only added the heated windscreen
And tpms wheels were gun metal gray

The_Laird 24th October 2015 06:11 AM

Well worth reading the link above (especially the second page).

And this is the spec that Ian built:

I bought it as a poor spec 4.2 QS which had the Engine/gearbox/Ecu/tcu/cluster/keys transposed from a donor car, which I'd been involved in from an a8parts perspective anyway.

To this I added:

A6 RNS-E, TV tuner, reversing camera and bluetooth module, 20" wheels.

Plus:

*Solar roof
*Alcantara headlining and parcel shelf.
*Audi multimedia kit with DVD / Playstation,
*Heated fully electric platinum rear sports seats (surely the only ones in UK)
* Standard platinum front sports seats with passenger memory
* Full enhanced leather pack
* USB power connection in armrest
* 240v power under armrest
* Relocated LPG gear to drivers door pocket area
* Changed all interior wood for light maple from walnut
* Replaced entire carpet for genuine 4 seater carpet, after cleaning
* Changed audio wiring loom to incororate Bose, RNS-E, TV and phone audio though speakers
* Fitted blinds
* 2001 MY tiptronic steering wheel
* Made all modifications to main wiring loom to accept the blinds, heated rear seats, electric rear seats etc, including the door sensor pin connections in the rear so seats move back when doors open etc

Thanks again Jim looking for near £2000 as I seen a 8 with broken gearbox
£1200 so that I think is a fair mechanical sound car as for delivery I can meet at cost of lpg

tintin 24th October 2015 11:45 AM

That sounds a lot for a LPG S8 for that mileage and age, without up to date pictures etc (in my opinion, and I'm not looking for one…)
