Ray, I love all technical terms in your original post!
...P.S. What is it about A8 owners' obsession with brolly holders?!?! I can't wait to get one, then maybe I'll get it! Good job! |

Then you pop the boot lid, run round, grab the massive strong brolly and in seconds you're in the dry again. Meanwhile they are rummaging around (with soaked backs) in all the rubbish in their boots for waterproofs or a little folding brolly that immediately blows inside out! :tuttut: |
Tony, Thank you, I was trying to make light of a very time consuming, back aching job. OK, I now know how (that was a tongue twister) to do it really easily, con my son into doing it. :D
As for the brolly thing, I did it 'cos I had blagged a brolly from my local Audi stealer. And yes it is easy to deploy, even when SWMBO has filled the boot with shopping. |
Just ordered my DVD-T tuner to replace the analogue one.
It's on it's way from Poland for ~£160 *touch wood* Thanks for the info. I will take lots of photos and allow extra time+++ |
On another thread I have told my woes (sorry, errors) whilst fitting a DAB tuner.
End result was by changing the aerial amplifier I resolved my weak DAB signal problem but have also vastly improved the TV signal. I had video in motion earlier tonight in places where yesterday I had no reception at all. Good luck with the job. +++ |
Finally upgraded to Freeview and have TV again after a three year gap.
Thanks again to this great forum. Had to recode from Audi A4/Central EU to A8/UK, this enabled all four antennas - the A4 must have only three. Address 57: TV Tuner Labels: None Part No SW: 4E0 910 148 E HW: 4E0 919 148 Component: R78 TVHybridDVB 0470 Revision: R0H06000 Serial number: 76300801681001 Coding: 0000101 <---had to recode to 0000003 0000(0)000 = A8 D3 0000000(3) = UK/EIRE It took about 10 mins to get the media rack forward enough to plug into the new one to test and another 20 to swap them over. Tools needed are stumpy phillips screwdriver. Small flat-blade screwdriver for plug clips. 10mm 1/4" drive socket (preferably with ratchetless wrench due to lack of swing). I left everything in the rack and undid the 10mm nuts and bolts holding it in and two for the fuse panel to allow more movement. Rocked forward and unplugged everything from old TV, undid 4 side philips screws holding it in and slid out and new one in. The new one is a little lighter in weight and smaller. The reception is pretty patchy though as where I live is hilly and has lots of signal blackspots. I also seem to be missing many channels (e.g. all the adult channels) despite driving to the Kimberley transmitter on the way to IKEA. I'll print out this list of multiplexes and see if any are not being received... https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/multiplexes |
Well done.
Puts my effort to shame. Nice work resolving the aerial 4 problem. +++ |
Snap,
Found that mine was 0000303 I've changed it to 0000003 It is still working. I have no idea what vehicle it originated from, suppose the first 3 means something like an A1:ROFL: |
