Have a look through the previous threads, the 2G MMI update is well documented I'm sure....

Looks like you have the original MMI code for your car, as my Nov 2004 built 2005 car had 0890 until I updated it to 5570. If you've got VCDS I'd be interested in seeing the VCDS Autoscan for the car at 0900 before you update it so that I can see the code levels for the multimedia ECUs in the scan. I'm compiling a 'what firmware came with what MMI level' table and 0900 is a level I haven't got details for. MMI levels originally came on 1 CD but Audi released a 'final level' set of 3 CDs [MMI 5510 CD1, Bluetooth Phone CD2, MMI 5570 CD3] to take 2G MMIs to 5570 on all cars [A8, Q7, A6] that supported it. 'MattyLondon' is quoting the 3CD set - 4L0998961 - and the 1CD set for MMI level 1110 - 4E0998961H. [You'll see elsewhere that 1110 is the supposed 'starting point' quoted for the 5510/5570 update but can confirm that I updated my 0890 level to 5510 in one go]. The 5CD sets on Ebay are the official 3CD set above and 'dodgy' 2DVD 2016 Navigation DVDS! Thus; you should only need the 3CD set. CD2 is only needed if you have a Bluetooth ECU in your car - VCDS shows this as ECU 77 - 'Handyvorb2'. If you have a 77 - 'TelefonModul EU' then you don't have BT and don't need to use CD2. One thing that might happen is that one or more ECUs go into CP - Component Protection - which disables it in some form. This can only be fixed by a trip to an Audi dealer although some reports suggest this can be fixed by running the CDs again! Not sure myself that this works; in my case the Bose amp went into CP and I had to get my dealer to fix it. [No-one seems to know why CP kicks in and under what circumstances so it becomes a 'give it a go and see what happens']. To fix your apparent problem I would suggest you get the 3CD set and only update with CD1 to 5510. The hybridTV was suppported by this level and its firmware level will be set to 119 if not already set or exceeded. regards - Julian |

I bought the 3CD set from my dealer in Kent; I ran the engine and used CD1 to update my 0890 MMI software to 5150. [If you do this step it should fix your TV problem]. Then I ran CD3 to go to MMI 5570. I don't have a BT phone unit so I didn't use CD2 which only has updates to take BT firmware to 1130. There's no BT updates on CD1 or CD3; if your BT unit works to your satisfaction, I'd run them but wouldn't run CD2. Julian PS I presume you know how to run the MMI CDs from the CD changer using the Update menu [aka Red Screen]? |
