I think I will tell the passengers to wear thick socks!!!:)

Is there any way to tell visibly if they're still working?

I'd consider buying used parts, if I could be sure they're working.

How difficult are they to fit?

If you look under driver n passenger seats you could see it. Just hoovered my car and saw it. Don't look that hard to be honest. Might need to remove seats though.

Seeing how many have failed, I'd be hesitant at forking out for a part at
that price, that may likely fail again...

I may take mine apart. I wonder if those part numbers are for left and right ducts and elements or if one is for the duct, and one for the element?

There seems to be plenty of different elements on eBay, but only one right/rear element and duct for the A8: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/162088342276

Seat out job. Found this:

p13-14.

Our sponsors seem to have a few on eBay too:

To be Frank, I don't really think I have the inclination to replace this. If at some point I need to remove the front passenger seat, well that's a different story.

Thanks for posting the info, that's really useful.

I thought you guys would buy the heaters for sale here, so I looked further afield. I bought two from USA and had them shipped to my management company, ready for me to collect on my next trip.

I liked that they were from a 2009 car from Nebraska, which hopefully means they've not been used too much.

I think installing them will be possible by removing the seat bolts and simply rocking the seat forwards and working under it.

Hey Turb tony you rubbing it in?:D how much is it on the UVAS A site?

Turbo Tony 27th June 2016 10:01 PM

LMAO! No, I promise, I wasn't! :D

I got them for $100 for the pair, after some haggling.

I paid for them using my US account, so I don't have to worry about the poor exchange rate at the moment.
