I'm sure I've read somewhere on the forum about recoding a new battery, even if it doesn't have one. Will need to do a search to see if I can find it.

ADDENDUM: That didn't take too long. Not exactly what I said it was about, but worth a try. The link is as follows:

http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showpost....84&postcount=4 and the line in particular was:

'Just go into the battery coding and change the end digit to +1 from where it is and you'll probably find all is well again for a long while '

Worth a try, and may save you having to taking it back to the shop.

Silly question from me but is the new battery fully charged?

Coded the battery, attempted to start. Listened to the start click a few times. I had removed the strap and replaced it before tightening up. I removed the strap and filed the innner washer, chassis plate and bolt, to ensure a good connection. Firer up first time . Many thanks for all your help. Attached photo of strap

Did you have that earth strap off when doing the turbo?

Earth strap was removed, then secured back on, it was tight! However would not conduct well enough to turn starter. Only after a file back did it work.
