Congratulations both. Wishing you a wonderful day and even better life together +++

My wedding car was a bland Hyundai with a terrible driver but we made up for it on the decorations which were not ribbons, but flowers mounted in that green florists substrate with wire ties to hold them...

I always use silk ribbons with sewn / bound edges as they are washable and look nicer quality, just dont like paper ones I'm afraid.

Tie a loop of ribbon through the top centre of the grille and run a ribbon from the sun visor mount on drivers side down through the loop, pull tightish then up to the passenger visor mount and tie off , then put a bow of some kind over the part on the grill where the ribbon goes through the grille loop +++

Beware of ribbons scratching the paintwork on the front edge of the bonnet, seen it on an A6 that my local garage rent out for weddings most weekends. Pretty sure it's a non-metallic black which seems very prone to swirl marks etc.

Exactly the response from an OCD '8 owner one might expect! I had the same concerns :o but if you dont do it that often and have cleaned, clayed and waxed the old girl beforehand it will be OK +++
I am not sure the same prep would have the same effect on some of Rays "old girls" . Some of them might end up with more than "swirl marks" after the night out.

Another reason for using Silk Ribbons with the edge sewn, much softer
We only put the ribbons on around the corner from pickup and don't drive very fast with them on as they will stretch, take them off again when doing longer faster journeys. You can also make the insides look nicer with ribbons on the door handles and headrest uprights +++

Thanks All!

Cheers all! Will sort the ribbons as suggested. +++

Anyone got any contacts "Upstairs" to pray for some great weather?? Rain forecast for S71 on Friday :-(

Although my youngest Son frequently states he is amazed that the job of "Weatherman / Woman" has not been rumbled as the biggest racket ever: they are paid to lie.

Light rain predicted from lunchtime, so it depends on when the wedding is during the day.

Neil had it right.
Wedding duties are like funeral ones, usually short and slow.

Conrgats and best wishes.

I hired a RR Silver Cloud III for my wedding so didn't have to worry about the ribbons but next year my sister in law is getting married and I may need to transport the bridesmaids.

If you need someone "upstairs" to help with the weather then you could try putting a statue of the Child of Prague in the garden, usually the day before I think. If it's head should accidentally fall off it's meant to be a sign of good luck!
