If it's a creaking sound (like a pirate ship!) going over bumps then that will be more than likely be anti roll bar bushes.

maybe a bit, seems to go away when warmed up !

Yup the ARB bushes did that too on my D3, noisier to start then went silent when warm. Changing the whole ARB was the solution that cured it in the end +++

I think from memory you have to buy the whole ARB complete with bushes for a D3 and it was about £136+vat from memory

I was looking approx £250 for an A8 plate and £399 for a V8 one..
But cudnt part with the money !
