The boot lock handle is simple. Once you get the inner bootlid trim off, you can see the screws holding it in from inside the lid.

So once again my driver side door KESSY lock button has packed up. I only changed this handle about a year ago. There is something seriously wrong with it's design.

Anyway i bought the handle brand new from TPS, can someone advise me on how to claim a new one on warranty. TPS have advised me that i have to take the car to an Audi dealer who will diagnose 1st to find the fault. But i can't be certain whether the labour costs for the diagnosis will be covered by the warranty.

Any one care to shed some light please.

The terms and conditions are that the part must be fitted by a VAT registered garage. It is usually in fine grey print on the back of the receipt. I think you would have to talk nicely to the dealer. Audi cover the labour charge of removing and refitting. Not sure about diagnostics.
