Yeah, nothing too bad. With 4 kids, a multi-threaded IT career and a part time car sales business, something has to give. The car business, and thus motor trade insurance is set to lapse shortly. Thought I'd simply go back to my old multi-car policy, but they wont touch ex-trader for until 12 months after ceasing trading. I thus have a small window of opportunity to hoover up my pre-motortrade no claims bonuses into 2 personal policies before they expire. Throw in a horrific tax bill from moving from contract to permanent, and shedding some tin is a complete no brainer.....

My commute has changed from a once a week 250 mile motorway round trip to a daily 10 mile B road twister. I'd love the S4, and the faults don't bother me hugely, but its got to be cheap enough to be worth going against the flow of all my other issues right now lol :-)

Time and energy will get you a higher price, but not many other folks will take that S4 away no further questions asked with that mileage... ;)

Very tempted, to the level where I kind of wish one of my cars failed to give me reason to buy it.

As it was not you who changed to Milltek I suppose you do not have original exhaust to go with it? I am sure Milltek sounds lovely but I have a thing where I just hate how aftermarket exhaust tips stick out too far off the bumper straight and does not follow the shape of car/bumper. So for me if I was to buy it exhaust would need to be changed or at least the tips to be cut off and original/other tips to be welded on to follow the shape of car.

I don't have the original exhaust, I could be wrong but I think the original tips were very similar (i.e. straight cut round) if a little smaller. One thing is for sure, having owned a few S4's and never fitted an Milltek before (for reasons of OEM preference), aurally I have missed out for years!

I am not looking at RS4 options to free up some V8 goodness, the exhaust on the RS has switchable flaps but in all honest, doesn't sound as good as the S4 at present - which needs to be resolved!

You are right. Having had a look at other cars on Autotrader they are all straight but smaller and tucked more into bumper so not sticking out, not like on S8 where they follow bumper line. Still I think OEM looks better but aftermarket could be made look good as well if it was sticking out less and preferably to follow bumper line.

Good luck with the sale, I cannot really justify it as both my cars are working ATM and you are a bit far away even if I am tempted. I did come very close to buying 3.0TDI A4 cab recently when my A6 had high pressure fuel pump issue but had to abandon it when I fixed my car.

I think this one is not meant to be..... !!

I'm more of an impulse guy. I'll have lost interest in it by the time I get back off hols :D

This Saturday just gone was the day for car swapping for me. Even that would have left me only 10 days to move the D3 on.

Think someone will end up with a bargain there. Combo of high miles, and honesty about its faults paints a bleak picture (quite wrongly) against the other motors out there.

If something was going to happen with that car for me now, it would have to be delivered, or cheaper still to cover a recovery guy I use in Bradford.
