Wow! Maybe I should get mine done over there. Even with the cost of a ferry crossing and a couple of days B&B, it would probably still work out cheaper.

You mean like the LPG filling stations along the Wild Atlantic Way! :D

If it helps, you can use Google to do the search for you.

Open a Google page and in the search bar type 'site:' followed by the website you wish to search, then a space and what you want to find.....

Site:forum.a8parts.co.uk lpg

This throws up loads of stuff! +++

Now the other thing you hate about forums like this is probably pedantic people, so with that in mind, LPG isn't an acronym, it's just an abbreviation. :D

My work here is done!

But you didn't explain to him why LPG is an abbreviation, and not an acronym. :tuttut: ;)

An acronym is an abbreviation that is/can be pronounced as a work, so something like ASCII (ask-e) if an acronym, but LPG is not.

Leave the door open, I'll get my coat!

Interesting article, but the second paragraph just adds to the confusion. This is what it is stating:

NASA is an 'acronym' = an abbreviation that is pronounced as a word
LPG is an 'initialism' = a series of initials pronounced individually

Somewhere along the line, LPG, TDI, FSI, TDC and many others have been relegated to merely 'a series of initials'.

... Too much time on my hands!

...and some acronyms have been used in everyday conversation so much that they appear in the English language as a 'normal' word and most folks don't even realise it's an acronym.

As en example, I was shooting pretend 'Laser' beams at my brothers in the early 70's, but it wasn't until my school Physics lessons, I learnt it was an acronym. Light Amplification by the Stimulated Emission of Radiation (LASER) if I remember rightly, but as I just lived on the edge and didn't Google it to be sure, may be wrong. :D

It always amuses me when I see the Americanised version of that, Lazer.

Presumably they zimulate their radiation over there.
