Sorry to say, but unless there is a medical advance specific to this virus, this will go on until next year.

My colleagues wife works at Homebase and according to her the last 2 weeks have been the busiest EVER for Homebase. Lots of people stocking up with DIY and garden items so they have something to do if they need to self isolate.

My son has just got fever, the odds are it's more likely to be cold or flu but since the tests are not widely available to know for sure we will be self isolating following government advice.

I have not stocked up on anything specially for virus but I buy stuff when it's on offer and have a 2nd freezer filled and lot's of longlife foods anyway so I could easily last couple of weeks. Only issue is fresh foods like milk, yogurt, fruit..., and all delivery slots in supermarkets are fully booked so will need to adjust diet accordingly.

It is surreal how we watched from afar about this 'virus' in china and the speed at which they threw together hospitals to cope. Now the issue is at our doorstep!

In the forklift game a lot of people thought China going in to 'lockdown' would give 'non chinese' manufacturers a better run at the market for 6 months......how wrong did they get that idea!

For us the phone 'stopped' ringing last week. we've had a few deferments of decisions and a few short term rental trucks handed back. No one wants to buy a forklift now.

Fortunately we supply a number of food/drink distribution companies and parcel delivery companies with rental trucks - these guys are busier than ever.
We've a workshop full of rental trucks heading out the door over the next two weeks (or as long as we are allowed to keep going)

Just keeping fingers crossed that we can keep the doors open as long as possible. We've 26 people gainfully employed and pay their wages.

I do not know if any of you have ever heard of Edgar Cayce. I have studied what he said in many topics, since I became aware of him back in -86 (I believe).
And I have a life membership in the A.R.E. His main topic was health issues.

Again and again he explained the importance to keep the body alkaline. Here is one quote recommendation:

"So far as the body-physical condition is concerned, the adherence to the use of carrots, lettuce and CELERY EVERY day at a meal or as a portion of the meal will insure against any contagious infectious forces with which the body may be in contact. "
Edgar Cayce reading 480-19

As far as I know. pH is a measure of voltage in liquids. A normal healthy cell needs -25mV to function properly, pH 7.4.
I also watched a YouTube half a year ago, that mentioned cancer cells have 30mV, which of course is acidic pH 6.5. The same video that explained that pH is a measure of Voltage - and I never knew :o

Be well, and stay healthy friends :)

I hope everyone stays safe and healthy during this time. Here in the States it's slowly spreading like wild fire. A lot a businesses are temporarily closed and from what I've heard if this doesn't get under control soon, the economy could go into a depression.

The whole world economy is inevitably headed that way I'm afraid. :-(

only thing I could advise is boost your immune system with vitamin c and d and if you do get symptoms fresh slices of lemon, quality honey not the watered down rubbish and a shot of your favourite whiskey.

Rant number 2!

The 'haves and have not' scenario - I've just read a couple of articles regarding the testing kits. There are two companies in Northern Ireland that make the kits and sell at £120, right here in the UK. Brilliant news.

The 'haves' - a private doctor in Harley Street is selling these kits at £375, and has taken in £2.5 million in one week. It's not as if he has to do anything, as they are self test kits that are sent back to the company for analysis.

The 'have nots' - NHS staff, people who are literally putting their lives on the line day in, day out, aren't being tested for the virus... because people are only being tested that show symptoms. An absolute insult to these people from their employers and the government.

One final snippet, neither company has been contacted by the NHS or the government regarding obtaining these kits.

Good old garlic has strong anti-viral properties. So has tea tree oil but don't drink it. Maybe gargle with it or steam under a towel, if you are not allergic to it.
Ginger should be good too. I went to my local Tesco and Morrisons superstores, all garlic and ginger was gone. People know something :)
Bacillus Subtilis pro-biotic bacteria found in Natto (Japanese fermented soy beans) and some Lactobacillus bacteria found in pro biotic yogurts produce anti-viral compounds of equivalent strength to Tamiflu according to some research articles.
Red peppers have 120mg vitamin C per 100g, more than oranges.

Eat healthy and stay safe.

pH is actually a measure of the concentration of hydrogen ions in a liquid and, according to Medical News Today “Healthy cells have a slightly alkaline internal environment with a pH of around 7.2. Cancer cells are more alkaline and have an internal pH that is higher than 7.2.”
