What an unattractive and disingenuous OP post

EDIT: It turns out he also unfriended me on Facebook.

No great loss, I suspect. In all of my lurking (and activity on these forums), you appear to be a thorough and decent person. I can vouch for the other comments about lack of care with regards to oil changes. I had to have my rocker cover gaskets replaced recently [see attached] and the garage commented on how clean the engine was, very little journal wear for a 176,000 mile car. I have always used good quality oil on a regular basis, as did the previous owner. Background: my car was at some point registered as an embassy car so I would suspect main stealer maintenance schedules.

All of the forum posts that I've seen from Steamship are indicative of someone who takes care of things. I'm glad others on the forums have backed you up, and for good reason. It's very pernickety of someone to write that on a forum post with the statement 'can't trust anyone, goodbye'.

JG shrugs his shoulders.

Sean,
You still have my full and unconditional support.

While there are powers greater than me. The moderators note that with a post rate of over 100 to 1, Sean's credibility rating is well over the limit to get our support.

I had thought about this soon after initially posting and really could not be ars*d adding it to my post, as the whole thing has f**ked me off, big time.

To everyone that has posted, thank you for the comments.

This seems to be true, but not in the way perhaps it was intended.

Work carried out by me :
- Serviced at 120k in January 2020 (£850)
New engine oil and filter
Genuine Audi air filters
Genuine Audi cv boots (inner and outer)
Genuine Audi power steering hose (due to slight leak)
New exhaust flexi fitted x2
Genuine Audi exhaust gaskets set
-4 wheel alignment
-New Bosch S5 silver battery (£153)
-Rocker cover gaskets just replaced
And other few bits and pieces been done by myself that I might forgot to mention.

Like you forgot to mention in the advert scraping out a bucket full of gunk from the rockers  But you clearly remembered it later on here

Sounds like Steamship sold the car in good faith, having looked after it during his ownership. I am pretty sure that the same can not be said of poorman'sA8.

Sean, sadly you have had the misfortune of your car being purchased by one of those individuals who are never going to be happy.
From the off they were putting up questionable posts. Finally they have, with abundant lack of honour, shown what type of person they are.
I can understand you being upset. It is unpleasant being the target of an immature rant, but that is all it is. Immature, plus childish and pathetic.
I value you as a fellow member and a friend. And look forward to happier times when we can again all get together.

On a lighter note, I hope the new owner surfaces here, but if he sees those pictures he might just have a legally enforceable issue with the previous owner

Very poor etiquette that mind, what a drama queen :tuttut:

My manifold failed after a few months of ownership but not for one moment did I think of blaming IT or Roberto for my misfortune. At the end of the day, it's a car with many moving parts that require regular maintenance and somewhere down the line of ownership someone didn't ensure it happened, and it certainly wasn't Sean.

Imagine trying to slander someone despite making a tidy profit from the short ownership? No, me neither
