The car is fixed, but the brake pedal is a bit soft.
The problem did turn out to be the servo, so the new (used servo) is now on the car as well as the new master cylinder. He power bled the brakes for a long time from all 6 nipples?, but it still feels a bit soft. I seem to remember from changing the brake fluid on my previous D2 that D2's have to go on the Audi dealer machine to bleed the ABS unit properly? Is this right or am I making stuff up :)? |

My experience of it, FWIW : http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthrea...147#post169147 |
If the system has been open at the master cylinder then you'll need VCDS to cycle the ESP return pump and then a couple of ABS-assisted emergency stops to fully purge all the air out. The latter is obviously pretty challenging on dry roads with spongy D2 brakes!

Maybe he did do the ESP return pump, I’ll try the ABS braking to see if that cures the pedal softness. Thanks Mikki +++ |
