Plus, its always possible to get stuck somewhere where a bump start isnt an option.

Aye, i guess its a good plan to carry a pair. You can typicaly get a jump from most people, though i have noticed location and ease helps with nice people.

I can't say i found my mini's that bad for draining the batery, the interior lights are tiny. I also found a rubber glove good for keeping the distributer dry was a good plan after going through a big puddle and conking the engine out. Who put it in front of the grill !!!

Plus we run all of them with Pug 306 D batteries.. The biggest you can get in the hole vs £

Mahoosive cranking power! +++

Well surprise surprise the battery is flat again >_<

So it is possible I do have a knackered battery.
Before I shell out for a new battery that I night not need, are there any other "common" faults that cause power drain i should check first??

Hi there,

Can you get the battery out and fully charge it as that can bring them back to life. Plus if you have a multimeter or similar and can leave the battery out for a while, you can check if the levels fall. However most garages can test bateries for voltage etc. The other thing is to check they electrolite level and top that up as that can effect charging.

Hi ELMO,

I have a spare battery that i've got left from my 3.7 QS you're more than welcome to have if you can be bothered picking it up from SW london...think i may still even have the receipt from halfrauds for the warrenty. It was about £100 but is gathering dust in the house atm.

Hi Oli thanks for the offer mate I might take you up on that. How much do you want for it?

does the 3.7 take the same battery as the 4.2 ?

Oli18 8th July 2010 03:56 PM

yes, it takes the same battery and you're more than welcome to it for free in exchange for a pint +++

Weekends are usually a bit tough but weekdays in the evenings are best if that suits?

Just PM me if you want to arrange a time.
