Right, now off to remove my silencers  Seriously, you really need an H pipe or X pipe for this engine, despite what powerflow say. Audi deemed it necessary to fit an H pipe from factory to increase the BHP - you have some sort of x/balanced pipe on your current system, so removing this will reduce your power, and alter the sound. |

Powerflow are going to be making up a very similar one for me as off the shelf is not available in SA....like most things for the S8 and even my Cab. Importing just reduces my Frostie Funds too much to Bear... :pint: Will post some pics once done... |
There is an idea if You keep the flap system You can make a switch with 3 position on/off/auto. And have the auto position to automatically open up on higher revs. You can take the feed from intake manifold changeover so that exhaust opens up with stage3 at 5200 rpm or stage2 at 3360 rpm of intake manifold when on auto. That way it will be nice and quite when cruising around at low revs and automatically open up when You floor it giving more noise, better exhaust flow and more power on higher rpm's.

just ask them to make it with a less aggressive angle more introductory rather than slammed into each other gas wise +++

Thanx for the input mates.... +++
I really want to be able to have a Toned down mode.... She is really Track Day Tone in Sport-mode....besides the fuel bill is eating into my Pint Funds :pint: So hard not to Floor it just for the Symphony.... The Cabin switch is a 3 mode rocker...... so would like to be able to make use of a three way mode as suggested.... First want to get all the Wiring and Air Pipe/Fittings sorted for the Variable Exhaust then I'll tackle the Metal-Work.... |
Did a little Homework and found this...... The Cats have been removed on the S and they have used the Std pump for alternative purposes....
Or am I barking up the Wrong Tree..... ??? Secondry Air System.... http://www.vaglinks.com/Docs/Audi/C5...aintenance.pdf |
