The Fat 5's were the wheels that were fitted to D3 A8's. The RS6 wheels were never referred to as Fat 5's. They were referred to simply as RS6 wheels, or S-Lines (17/18").

I had a set of Fat 5's on my old B6 A4 3,0 Quattro Avant, purchased from an Audi Main Dealership.

Somehow, they look larger than the D2 S8 wheels, despite being the same size. +++

Getting too expensive...

Well I'm no longer "pondering" as they're heading above my budget now.
Still a week to go, 8 different bidders already, over £350 for a set of 4, reserve not yet met. :-(

And the tyres fitted are surely wrong (215/40 on 8.5J rims). :(

That's way too narrow - suggests a 'stretched' look on a much smaller car?

Try this for size - photo of the sidewall angle!

Indeed, it's also the difference between doing it right and not....
(I was really just illustrating how stupidly narrow the tyres the "Fat Five" seller had put on the wheels - that pic is from his eBay listing)

How wide ARE the wheels in your picture - presumably the rears are wider than the fronts? Are they from a Porsche or similar?

Thats quite a slope from the vertical he's managed to achieve there, may even be below the recommended size options for that wheel size!

They are Kahn RSX (Diamond cuts) I always like them and finally got these off of an aftermarket D3 conversion that was done but the guy had the wrong profile tyres on the rears and was getting some quattro problems so he got fed up and sold the car and the wheels in the end -
they are a staggered set up -
Front wheels: 9J-21-ET32 255/30/ZR21
Rear wheels : 10.5J-21-ET35 295/25/ZR21
no spacers just the coilovers on the front to lower it a bit since those pics as per my sig pic

Well I've gone in another direction now, so no "Fat Fives" for me!

I was fundamentally trying to get a 2nd set of wheels so that I could have a full set with winter tyres.
One possible direction was some nice new "summer wheels" and then use the old 18" Avus for winter (bit of a shame though) but today I've solved this differently (see another thread). +++

Well somebody seems to want them and someone else expects a high price.

Currently at £450, reserve not met, 16 bids and 18 hours to go!
