I just plugged in with Vag-Com to check the new Immob III code and it worked.
I could see how keys are currently programmed in to it. Four!! A useful piece of information. When I got the car, I only got one key with it. I asked if the seller had any others and he replied that he didn't. I spoke to the previous owner (S8YOT) and he remembers giving over atleast two keys when he part exchanged it a few months earlier. I phoned the seller back again and asked him to check again and sure enough, he found a second key which I now have and works. There's always been a nagging doubt in my mind about 'what if' someone else has another key and I couldn't find out. Now I can. The question is... do you know how many keys are coded to your car??? Always a good idea, if you have the kit, to recode all keys you have on buying a new car so at least any 'floating' keys will only gain entry to the car and won't start it
I got 2 remotes with mine but no valet or wallet key - shame really but guess after 10 years not that surprising |
