Doesn't help that the C6 RS6 appears to be selling at about twice the going rate of the S6 either.....
It's certainly true that some of the FSI motors aren't all they're cracked up to be - and many will never have made their claimed power. I believe a motor or 3 fitted to the RS4 may have been replaced under warranty after a suggestion of legal proceedings.... I didn't think the V10 was susceptible but I confess to not having searched for any evidence one way or the other. Maybe now isn't the time to scratch the itch Ian? |
Surely this carbon build-up issue will affect S6, S8, R8 and Gallardos then. I've heard of some problems but not enough to suggest its widespread?

I better get mine on the rollers
|
I always thought it was everything from the 2.0T in the Golf/Leon/Octavia upwards to the RS4 that were worst effected.
If you can get the V10 on some rollers it would at least give a baseline, knowing that rollers vary so much as it is! |
V8 R8 suffers, as does the RS5, multiple dynos. Same story. The V10 R8 doesn't suffer, odd. The C6 RS6 consistently puts out at least 572 or more on any dyno too. The C6 3.0 supercharged A6 will be the car to have, if MRC can do the same as they have to the S4, how stealth would that be. No locking it away and triple checking for hoodies when getting out at the petrol station like I do now in the plus, and quicker then a mapped V10 RS6. I can't wait to see the tuning results for the C7 S6, and D4 S8. Even stock the S6 is doing some ridiculous times (due to the gearbox). I've been hoping for two things. Audi start making cars handle like Bimmer, or Bimmer bring X Drive to the UK as have been loosing intrest, however, sounds like some exciting times coming up for forced induction Audi fans. +++

Looks like simple fix- install extra injector in intake to spray some fuel in to clean up build-up, maybe a bit smaller then stock injector and wire it to fire together with one of main injectors. 1 extra injector for 8 cylinder car would be 12.5% extra fuel which would be near the limit of adaption range but if you put smaller injector ECU should be able to adapt to extra fuel.
|
Interesting reading.... Couple of the posts on there mention additional injectors... Still a ****-poor system though if it cakes up that badly... Probably good that I bought my sootchucker :)
