They're not that rare - they pop up weekly on ebay, albeit lots are saloons and/or autos. There's been at least 1 manual saloon for sale for a few months.

Main thing to check is that the check engine light isn't on - may be something minor but often points to torque converter issues manifesting as something else.

Nearly bought a saloon one a few years back... loved my passats of that era, then found '8s :)

Great cars never seen one with solar sunroof if it was a auto
