Yup, I see this as one of the best routes forward. Dont sit and wait for the car to charge (apple style) - Just swap the batteries over for a fully charged set (everyone else style) :D

Whether they can make all this storing, charging and heaving around of batteries cost effective however who knows...

A few friends and me were talking about this not so long ago and were came to the conclusion that although tech has moved on quick and is moving so fast, but at the end of the day were using steam to power cars.

I’m sure this has been done before?

OK not quite the same as you don't have to spend a fortune or do all the damage to the planet to mine all the nasty’s to make the battery and you're not left with all those really nasty metals and chemicals at the end lift of the battery.

Renault have a system in France for a battery swap, you drive up and the batteris are swapped under the car automaitically. but what are the chances of the industry coming up with a standard :(
