If you mean the scuttle drains, Daviesbike (I think) recommended loads of hot water and detergent on those. There's a complex process with bent copper tube on Audipages IIRC.
(luckily mine are free flowing)

If it is the scuttle drains then you need to clean out the scuttle before attempting to clear the drains

The car has been parked up since the weekend and its rained constant here so I thought I'd have a wee look to see the damage....................

NOT A DROP OF WATER HAS ENTERED!!!!!!!................

So it must be when the car is moving?!?!?! :( Its going away next week to the garage so I'll ask them about clearing drains, A/C pipes etc! :)

That points again to the aircon drains as a most likely cause.
One test (that I used effectively) is to turn the aircon off (i.e. Econ mode) for a few days and observe.

I had this problem which appeared not long after buying my A8 in December 2011. Water would literally gush out from the console side trim and all over the better half's feet. Also had water spitting out of the dash vents front and rear. The longer the journey, the worse it was. I had the trim stripped and was shocked at how much water came out of the orange tube. Drained it several times. Got my local garage to investigate, and they cleared the air con drainage tubes. Been absolutely fine since it was done earlier in the year. My dad's old A8 (PF 1996 N Plate) had the same symptons way back when he had it, but we never knew what caused it at the time.

Right guys, my mate has been on this today and I'm now asking for your advice. He has cleared the A/C pipes at the side of the gear lever, he has cleared the pipes under the arches and the botang hole has a grommet in it.

When the boy aims a hose at the windscreen the water is running into the scuttle and is still dripping like a tap into the passenger footwell! :Confused::(

Any ideas now so I can pass it onto him???? :cool:

must be scuttle drains, you will need the brake pipe on an air hose trick, unless you can get it on a ramp then you can get at them from underneath

He reakons he has cleared the scuttle ones fella! :( He asked if its ever had a replacement windscreen :Confused: It is now just a small drip like a tap, needs more investigating! :rolleyes:

Anybody around the Glasgow area that knows of these leaks that could look at this for me???? :cool:

the reason I suspected scuttle drains is that the above post only mentions the air-con, "botangs hole" and the wheel arch ones, I would suggest checking with him on how he did them just to be sure, certainly still points to them I would suggest, post back what he says if you dont mind please, if its not them its going to be someone inside the car with a hose outside I'm afraid:(

I sent him all the links so he could read then copy! I think it's the one that needs a bit of bent pipe to clear as he's probably not followed the technique exactly! I have just read that "A4 AUDI" knows how to clear these and have done it before so I think I might need to pay them a visit! :rolleyes:

My old Mk3 Golf VR6 had a water leak and it bugged me so bad as I couldn't find where it was coming in, I really hope it's not the same with the A8! :tuttut:
