Have you got the fault codes from Vagcom yet?

If we know what the fault code is we may be able to narrow it down.

Thanks for the replies guys! Its going into the garage on Monday so if any codes show up I will post up for you to see. Its not sounding good though! :(

Had a similar issue with my A4 Cabriolet. Multitronic Box.

Flashing gear select indicators all at the same time on the dash mean that the
Box ECU needs replacing.... :(

Very costly.... I shipped mine to a company in UK that repair them for a fraction
of the dealers cost for a new one....

Hard to say without proper diagnosis. Could be simple problem like loose contact in wiring or low oil level/blocked filter, F125 switch,TCU or knackered gearbox.

Hope for the best be prepared for the worst.

I'm not looking forward to the scan results tbh! :(

Been away on site the last 2 days, should get a call tonight fella! +++

Richierich37 7th November 2012 06:49 PM

Got the call, here is the screen shot he sent me regarding the vagcom code..........

http://i294.photobucket.com/albums/m...4ABFDAE24E.jpg

Its pointing at the F125 that someone suggested!

The vagcom also flagged up 2 rear lambda sensors but my mate says the car has got 2 new cheaper catalytic convertors that could be the issue! :tuttut: I have told him to replace the sensors but at over £110 each could be a costly error!!!!

Thanks guys +++

I wouldnt bother replacing the sensors, most non Audi spec cats trigger them but will still pass an MOT, if it keeps lighting up the light suggest you invest in something cheap like this which can check and reset the error

mannyo 7th November 2012 07:00 PM

I get cat errors all the time, and just reset the fault when it occurs (every couple of weeks). Passed MOT fine with perfect emissions between fault clearances, so I just carry on resetting the code.

At least the gearbox fault looks like an easy cheapish fix.
