Hey Amar, if you ever fancy trying a B8 S4 for a couple of days let me know, I'm in Birmingham regular enough and could fancy a swap for the plus. Besides, the guys at work expect me to keep turning up in different cars and I've not bought anything since last year... :p

Yeah, that could be fun actually. I would like to see what a B8 S4 is like to live with. My RS 6 needs new rear discs and pads, and a few other bits and bobs that Mkoneman is going to do end of Jan or early Feb, oh and alignment as I've just spent over £1k on Michelin Pilot Super Sports, once I have all that done we can talk. :)

Edit: Since last year, haha!! Just spotted that.

BTW, I have driven the RS 6 to work today as it started snowing lightly and I didn't want to get stranded in the C4. As I joined a slip road, the same one I have done nearly every day for the past 7/8 weeks in company cars, I had a quick glance at the oil temp, yep, it was warm enough now, so I went to overtake a Vectra that had been annoying me. I had to grip the steering wheel so tight. GOD, it is fast. It shocked me how fast it was, because I had got used to the power, but company car driving made has made me realise, again, that 844nm is just not normal, or sane. I was right to do the 390mm V10 C6 brake upgrade!

They are not money pits at all

I have owned two c5 avant RS6's

If they have been looked after they should be fine

Main concerns are DRC leaks and fails, very expensive to fix, most rs6's have these swapped out for coil overs very wise mod to have

Gearbox bangs into gear, check for fault codes if you get a chance to vagcom a car before you buy one do so, other than that no real issues, obviously they get driven hard but do your home work and find a nice FSH example and they are great cars ++
