right gotcha +++

- no issues around the trim on the actual paintwork, was one of the first things I checked all the way round. the trim itself has some bubbling but I would probably look to fit an OEM screen with the correct option code for the original build spec so the trim could be re-done at the same time.

I have a good window fitter contact so that could be the way to bring the car back to it's OEM spec.

There's various recent threads on the subject - it requires careful prep and the right padding to do the job to factory standard

Some of my trim has cleaned up quite well with Autosol - around the doors and boot. :)

The possible leak in the vacuum system could well be the rubber seal on the boot actuator itself. Mine went. I replaced it with one from A8 Parts. Pretty easy to do. And you can confirm if this is the fault with the boot trim removed - you can hear it leaking. I'll post a photo if that helps, but I think there's a thread of mine on this somewhere - I'll have a look.

Here's the link: http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthread.php?t=5403&page=4

The first photo shows the rubber seal that failed on mine. There's also a diagram to show how it fits and, very early in the thread there's a photo of the thing in place (but you can't see the seal).

Glad I came to this forum - I know this is slightly tacky but needs a "Like" button :)

Thanks and will look into that. I had an email from the seller this weekend saying drains have all been cleared by Audi tech, so really hoping the Thursday inspection goes well.

I had mine done once, only for them to block up again relatively quickly.
When I did them "properly" it was obvious that only one side had been cleared, which is OK for a "quick fix" but not ideal.
As I've described on a thread somewhere getting the entire rubber "thingy" out (and back in) on both sides is easy once you have the trim off (which you have to do anyway) and you can then clear them completely.
