i finnally took off my aux belt yesterday ... started up the car and she purrs like a kitten ...

it seems the bearings in the alternator are shot so hopefully il be able to get new bearings for it or replacement if not

After all that effort re building the altinator with new bearings ect turned out it was one of the pullys ...

So rather than paying a fortune for all new ones I stripped it all down and pressed new bearings into them all
And bobs your uncle all smooth and quiet..

On the plus side altinator is good for another 8 years +++

Good result, and probably a good thing you caught it before it destroyed itself and took out the belt.
