Sounds good, is it a straight swap??
|
Looks straightforward, three bolts and an electrical connection. Only headache is going to be removing the trim along the bottom edge of the screen as it needs to come off to gain access to the third bolt which is behind the heater air intake.
Its only the linkage on the current one that's broken, so I maybe able to recoup some of the cost by selling the old motor (assuming their is demand for a motor) |

Swapped the linkage over today, it was more complicated than it appeared. Summary of needed steps.
1. Remove wiper arms 2. Remove covers in engine bay 3. Remove pollen filter cover and filter 3. Remove 2 bolts holding the lower screen trim in place and remove the trim. 4. Remove 4 bolts from the strut brace at the centre of the screen. 5. Remove 4 Allen bolts holding the bracket to the body. 6. Remove all remaining strut brace Allen bolts. 7. Remove 3 bolts securing the linkage 8. Remove strut brace bracket by gently working it out. 9. Remove the linkage being careful not to damage the screen, it's difficult and you may have to move the mechanism to the other end of travel. 10. Disconnect wiring 11. Reverse process to refit but there is no need to plugin the wiring till the end. Took about 3 hours, will add a few pictures later. |
Well done chap. All OK I trust?
Do you think there is any preventative maintenance that can be done? |
