Isn't the fold down flappy thing on the bootlid liner for holding umbrellas?

EDIT: Ahhh... sorry... Just noticed that it is an optional extra. Thought it was standard.

What is this optional extra?

Pics, links?

Isn't it just like a curry hook either side near the hinges under the shelf?

Lee S 23rd April 2014 01:34 PM

No.. It's like a drop down gripper. I will take a photo of mine later on. I'm not sure if it screws to the boot liner or if you need a different boot liner.

Photos of optional brolly holder. It has a quite strong spring inside it. Like a giant clothes peg really. But it seems part of the toolkit door.

I think the Rolls-Royce version is better; one in every door.

The Laird would love it - the chauffeur comes round, opens the door and has the brolly immediately to hand.

or even, for a more reasonable price, the one on the Skoda Superb…:D. A damn fine car for very little money (and then one can afford the chauffeur…)

ScottD3 24th April 2014 07:49 AM

Lee, I like that. Any part numbers or anything on it?

Don't forget the passat. It has the same system as the Skoda.
I do wonder how they cope with drying a used umbrella.

LOL!

But my chauffeur has his own place for the brolly (can make the brolly a bit smelly though!) :tuttut:
