Definitely belt and not chain on the 3.7 and 4.2 petrol, had mine changed not long after purchase. The engine is very similar to the latter D2 3.7.

Sorry forgote to say. That's to me as put a deposit down on it
All being well should be picking it up next weekend. Are there any
main things to look out for with the D3. I know that the air compresser is
a big one but anything else that anyone can think of would be a great help
Will be putting up my D2 for sale at the weekend. Just need to find out how to
add pics to the site and I can get it up to see if anyone is interested before
I move to e-bay

Adding pics here is very easy and I'm sure there's a detailed guide somewhere. But basically, bring up a post as usual and, below the post, click 'Go Advanced'.

Scroll down the 'Manage Attachments' and click that. You can then simply 'browse' your computer to add picture files from where-ever you store them. Repeat the browse for each photo.

Then click 'Upload' and go make a cup of tea! Once they've uploaded, simply post your message as usual and the pics will be attached.

Hope that helps.

Now any thinks that i should look out for when i go to check my new D3 out next weekend....all being well +++

Open bonnet, remove front engine cover and check that the intake arms and linkages are operating and not broken/seized like mine.

Put the car in lift mode, step outside and listen to the air compressor (passenger side, behind bumper). it should not be making any untoward noises.

If that 8 you're looking at this weekend doesn't suit you, then this D3 has came up on AT today. It's not mine, just sharing info.
