Welcome Brian :)

I was in the Royal Artillery for 13 years, I left in 2005. Based in Germany for most of it apart from operational tours (NI, Bosnia, Kosovo, and Iraq) and exercises in Canada, and a 2 year ERE posting to Larkhill.

I still have no idea why I left...

Thanks for the welcome guys,
Brian :)

Welcome Brian. I've had a couple of 750iL's, which were brilliant. And an LS400 which wasssss sssssnore Eh what! Oh yes I think you find a 4.2 8 will knock the socks of both. No comparison. And quattro means no longer trying to join the traffic in the wet, with the rear wheels spinning while a truck is bearing down on you.
Keep looking and the right one will turn up, but I'm guessing you already know this.

All the best. Keep looking and sharing the ads here.

Welcome but, jeez, another bloody pongo! :p Don't we have a limit on forum membership from former brown jobs? ;)
and whilst you are looking for a 12 yr old D3 why dont you look at some facelift D2s? At that age/price you might as well look at some examples?

Just seen this on ebay...

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2004-D3-Au...item27fa492601

I know the interior colour is a bit brown for me, bit it ticks all the rest of the boxes, and the mileage is fairly low for the age. Just wondering if there is any particular reason for the odd reg plate?

@David's8 Us Pongo's are everywhere!! :)

Brian :)

just looks like the owner has stuck a private plate on it. those plates used to be for Northern Ireland only but are now released for use anywhere as a legitimate UK plate and just get used to hide the age from the vehicle as many plates do. +++

I think I may have a crack at this one :) Have to wait for approval from Ze Führer though...
