I'm booking my ferry tonight. Even if I drive down on the Friday morning, I'm bloody going. I will go, I will have the time of my life, and by Christ I will do it again next year.

I have to say, that even though I shared with Darren last year, it was a truly superb event. I would say I had as much fun being driven, as I did driving....got some awesome pictures when I wasn't driving ;)

Haven't heard for definate but if you arrive with us and we have the same room as last year it was a 3 sleeper. Otherwise there is another hotel down the road were Darren stayed last year.

Even I, who booked months ago, have to have a room in the other hotel, as Chris had booked me and Mike a shared room again....not entirely sure why. Gutted :(

So, Chris is currently checking out the availability of rooms in the other hotel. I have asked him if we can get first refusal on any who cancel in the main one.

Count me in for the Ring on Sunday. I take it you are all aware that Sunday will be our only day on the circuit, so the earlier we get there the better it would seem.

I plan to return to the UK on Monday afternoon, as I only live in London, I'd rather drive straight home and sleep in my own bed.

OK, that's the ferries booked for me too. 5:55am on the Friday also, returning 19:55 on the Monday.

my plan for the monday is to stay at the nurburgring. there is a massive new complex just been built there with resturants, motoring shops including an audi shop and loads of things to see and do. also there is ring-werk. it is like a motoring musium that also includes the fastest roller coaster in the world. http://www.nuerburgring.de/en/ringwerk.html

I intend to book a room over the weekend.

I've been looking at the map and the timings for the trip.

Route planner is saying 6 hrs from Calais to Edersee, thus I guess the plan is to arrive after the airfield trip on the Friday?

Also I take it we are planning to leave early on Sunday to give ourselves the maximum time at the Ring. Having looked at the route planner its a 3.5 hour drive regardless of route.

I like to have a plan in my mind before going anywhere hence the questions.

Plan on 5 hours driving. Will see us there early pm for a few starter beers!

I calculate I will be doing over 2000 miles that weekend! :eek:

i also plan on doing a good few miles about 1600 and expect to be spending around £450 in petrol. could save on fuel cost by driving at 56 miles per hour :tuttut: but dont think we will be doing that and i dont think google maps would be good for timings as our average speed may not be the same as google intended +++
