I thought I remembered something odd.... All that expensive kit, and no heated front seats.....

Is facelift that critical if you can save a wedge of cash and get a car with a quality lpg install? That looks really neat and with adaptive cruise too

maybe i should buy this and be done with it

Early ones are prone to a number of electrical niggles iirc, and the gearboxes tend to be a weak point too, same ZF box that Audi use...

My old Range Rover is a great toy for playing around in, but they are high maintenance and you really need to repair anything as soon as it goes wrong or massive bills can occur.

They are not the magic carpet ride some folk portray them to be and cornering at much more than a snails pace can have the passengers power sliding from side to side. For chauffeur work the A8 is almost the perfect vehicle and takes a lot of beating.

Only if Tywyn needs a new drug dealer! :)

daviesbike 4th July 2012 01:36 PM

haha yea it dose look a bit drug dealer like that range rover lol

that audi on lpg is the same as the ebay one thats offered up if you look at the reg only there is no mention of a re-spray on the ebay add

as for fitting a face lift front end i guess i could do that with the front of the W12 that a8 parts still have

IT 4th July 2012 01:57 PM

It was subject to a "crash for cash" type front end accident from memory.

I think the owner struggled to prove it was a fraudulent crash, and ended up footing the repairs himself DIY.

Change of circumstances means the S6 is going on hold, so this D3 looks very appealing right now, and i'm London tomorrow..... Hmmmm.. +++

daviesbike 4th July 2012 02:45 PM

Close I was going to get it as well :D

Ended up getting another one with a nice spec and S8 exhaust for £5k with LPG instead. Bargain!

IT 12th July 2012 12:17 PM

This one per chance?

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2003-AUDI-...item2a1fca8d99

I paid a small premium for the ACC, Sunroof etc, but still came in under 6K +++

That's the one. Been chasing it for a friend actually. Was tempted by your one but that one the spec is nice and for once all dark interiors. It's had a few upgrades on it I think. Exhaust shall be interesting....
