Sadly, my contact at Audi (who apparently provided some nice gifts that I wasn't there in the evening to see last year :tuttut: ) has not responded this time. :-(

David's8 20th May 2014 09:22 PM

That's a shame - but at least we will be honoured by your presence. :)

Audi are as tight as a duck's a**e. Brian tried them and they really didnt want to know.

tonupkid 20th May 2014 09:33 PM

I'll rustle something or other up, but it may in part be a repeat of a previous donation. Can't remember what I've sent previously

thanks for trying, as David points out Audi, both National and Local have been dreadful, National gave me some blah blah nonsense, and Glasgow Audi didn't even see fit to respond - not great really:tuttut:

sarg 21st May 2014 01:14 AM

I also wrote to Audi customer services and haven't even had the courtesy of a reply, despite the email also enquiring of the availability of an S8 to test drive to replace the M3.

Guess I won't be buying Audi next time either, shocking customer service

ScottD3 21st May 2014 08:15 AM

I've been racking my brains to see what I can put in the pot from here but I can't think of anything that would be useful for you guys.

Unless you want some A4 parts or other random Audi parts but nothing that's of any use to you guys.

I will keep looking.
You never know what I might find.

PsYcHe 21st May 2014 08:18 AM

Someone could always give Amar a nudge.. He's working at an Audi dealership now..

Contribution to a basket of car care products would OK?

ScottD3 21st May 2014 10:03 AM

I got some products in the garage.
I'll have a dig.

I thought he was at Citroen?

Which Audi dealer and what's he doing there?

PsYcHe 21st May 2014 11:19 AM

Not sure which one and what he's doing, but he moved a few months ago.. I could get him via facebook, but someone probably has his number (or he'll look on here himself).

HPsauce 21st May 2014 11:29 AM

He goes online, posted on AudiSRS just the other day. Why not send a PM? ;)

The_Laird 21st May 2014 11:45 AM

Remind me of his forum ID and I'll go a-begging!

EDIT: Remembered - Singh. Sent a begging PM!

sarg 21st May 2014 01:04 PM

Amar lives near to me, that's why I asked, if I do come back to Audi in the future, having a friendly contact at a dealer would be very handy

Architex_mA8tey 21st May 2014 01:46 PM

I think from memory hes at Audi Coventry now Sarg, moved across in the last few weeks +++

The_Laird 23rd May 2014 12:14 PM

Back to the thread topic....

...please add a copy of 'The Audi A8' by Jürgen Lewandowski.

If you don't know this book, it's a facinating hardback on the development of the Audi A8 (in German and English) with numerous brilliant, full colour illustrations.

It may arrive after the meet, but I will post it to the winner.

A couple more - smallish - prizes from me to add to this growing collection:

1 - One of them there claying mitts that we've been discussing on that other thread….;)

2 - A 1/43 Model Black D3 (one for Connor's collection - assuming he doesn't already have this :)…) from the "Audi Authentic" collection

I will give half a dozen cans of Loctite 8040 Freeze & Release which is like a fancy version of WD40 with added freezing effect. They are past their use by date and some have little dents but seem to work just fine and does not blow up in your face.

I should also have another bigger item to donate, just trying to decide which.

I spoke too soon. :D
My contact is moving on from Audi later this week but has passed on my request to someone appropriate. Fingers crossed.
I've explained that we are having a raffle in aid of prostate cancer charities so I hope that helps. ;)

HPsauce 28th May 2014 11:06 AM

Result.+++
I've been asked by Audi for the contact details of one of the organisers, so they can send some stuff.

Don't all rush, but one of you please PM me with a suitable home or business address for delivery.

I will donate one of these, might be handy for those who do a lot of VCDS work. ;)
In-car laptop switch-mode power supply charger. 15v-24v selectable. Various connectors.

briang9 28th May 2014 11:30 AM

Superb thanks, PM winging its way to you+++

sarg 28th May 2014 12:04 PM

I've also been having a go at Audi Customer Services' lack of response on their Facebook page, they have replied there asking me to email them again.

Watch this space...

HPsauce 28th May 2014 12:14 PM

My request actually got passed on to BBH, who presumably represent them in the online "Community" world where my contact is.

As we're not an official or organised group with a membership process we're not on their radar so my contact is rather indirect and actually via AudiSRS. ;)

It's the largest collection of their range topping cars in anyone place in the country, who gives a **** if it an "official club"

What they do now it's a direct reflection of the Audi Group toward their range topping customers. If they can send me a box of wine for monening how rubbish they are then the least they can do is send a pen to the group ffs.

Anyway i'm a member of the A8 owners club, well i was, i'll make sure that the plate is on the car if Audi UK need that for a 20p gift. What would our A8 owner friends in Germany make of it all?

Dear Mr Sargent

Thank you for your recent email regarding a donation for your raffle.

As you can imagine, Audi receives a large number of requests for a wide variety of very worthwhile projects.

Currently we have existing commitments to a number of sponsorship and charitable programmes and our focus is on maximising the opportunities that these present. For this reason, I am unable to provide you with assistance.

However, I would suggest contacting your local Audi Centre who may be able to assist you with your request. Your local Audi Centre can be found by visiting our website www.audi.co.uk.

I would like to wish you the best of luck with your raffle and thank you again for your interest in Audi.

Kind regards

Ashley Sorrell

Safe to say I'll be sticking with BMW or Porsche again for my next car.

My local dealership couldnt even be bothered to reply:rolleyes:

sarg 28th May 2014 02:04 PM

When I emailed them, I also asked about arranging a test drive of a D4 S8 as I might be considering trading in the M3 for one - this part of my email seems to have been totally overlooked by them.

Any PR bod in their right mind might have spotted this as an opportunity to not only offer a test drive, but to offer it for the meet weekend allowing another 25 8 owners to look one over.

Never mind

HPsauce 28th May 2014 02:06 PM

The emails probably don't even reach a real person. Filtered and answered by a "droid".

You mean Sarah Lacey isnt a real person!! :( And I thought that Sarg and Brian had got off to cracking start with her. She passed the Turing test for me!!

The problem, Dezzy, is that we are not CUSTOMERS of theirs. We buy second hand cars from others and so, as has been said before somewhere on here, they feel that they owe us no loyalty. Despite the fact that we are the best advert they have. People dont keep and cosset cars that are a heap of sh!t. They do that for good cars.

briang9 28th May 2014 02:49 PM

looks realish....

I've just sent an email to Audi UK MD, Andre Konsbruck, explaining what I think of their PR :tuttut:

You're right David, although most of us have been customers at some point i imagine albeit not shopping for new cars but maybe some parts. It's not like anyone was asking for an A1 or anything just a pen off a desk or similar.

At least the Sarg and Brian got a reply. I emailed them a week ago giving them details of the meet and that we would also be having a charity raffle for Prostrate Cancer (something I feel strongly about), and still haven't had a response.

Singh 28th May 2014 10:12 PM

Guys, sorry, I've only just come across this thread (and Jim's PM).

Leave it with me and I'll make sure that a prize is arranged for the raffle, one thing I can't promise is what this is likely to be, and with month end being so busy for us, it will be June until I can really do anything.

When is the prize needed for?

I'll be sure to check this thread, but feel free to contact me on my mobile/e-mail. I did loose a lot of my numbers so please pop your name at the end of the text so I know who it is.

Hope all are well. +++
