Confirmation of entrance???
The approach to Haigh Hall is along School Lane. The point depicted in your photo is wherethe lane bends right 90 degrees. The left hand entrance is to a public car park. The straight ahead entrance with the "No Entry" signs is the way to the hall. I am not sure how they plan on doing this but I think that we will be on the grass area in front of the hall. If I'm correct then we will drive through the "No Entry" and continue down the hill to the hall. At the bottom of the hill you will be at the left of the hall. Carry on round to the front and then we will be marshalled to the correct spot. Of course, if I am wrong please blame the Mayor of Wigan, not me :ROFL: Stephen, you are Exhibitor 19/1 Mark, you are Exhibitor 19/2 Dave, you are Exhibitor 19/3 Ray, you are Exhibitor 19/4 Spare, you are Exhibitor 19/5 Update, due to work commitments either Dave or myself will have to work tomorrow, Dave has volunteered so that I can attend. We are now down to three cars, unless someone else shouts up. |
Thanks Ray +++
So I have the right entrance, yeah? I will aim the car up the 'no entry' road. If anyone jumps out to stop me I will run them over and blame you (I mean the Mayor of Wigan). :ROFL: |
Update, Update
Dave will be with us tomorrow. He managed to talk one of our ladies to cover the job tomorrow. He and I will meet at ours for a cuppa at 08:30, then be at the breakfast thingy from after nine-ish. |
Started cloudy and when I awoke there was proof of the heavy night time downpour. My super clean car was no longer super :p
Oh well, the fantastic Wigan style breakfast cheered me up and I had Dave's company. Drove round to Haigh Hall, found our space, parked up, calmly waited. Mark and Linda (Moltaue) arrived as I was trying to phone them, followed shortly by Stephen (Tintin). OK we were complete, the A8 contingent were in position. Quick brew, a few chats and suddenly the day was gone. We did not win anything but I believe we had a good time and being very good boys did the forum proud. Roll on next year, same time, place etc. Now what about a ride through the Trough of Bowland? |

Yep, a thoroughly enjoyable day in the sun with thoroughly nice company - good to get together today, and the time dig fly by, and "proper' North West meet next up.
My suggestion is that we go for the last Sunday in September 27th. If that works for you/me and Mark, we can start a list, and others (Darren - no excuses of being in Germany please :tuttut: .., plus others, feel free to chip in). Pics from today (not all of Audis..:eek2: ) attached |

Good weather, great day and brilliant company! :) Shame more '8 owners couldn't make it, although admittedly I did enjoy the feeling of exclusivity, being one of only 4 exhibiting '8 owners :D And it was kinda cool that they were all black too.
Great photos Stephen! Here's ours.... I wish we'd taken a few more now, but I think sometimes you can spend so much time viewing the day through a lens that you don't really get to see any of it. I actually only took about 3 of these photos (Lyn took the rest, hence all the camper vans, her personal favourite vehicle); I was too busy enjoying chatting and looking at the cars. Oh, and great to see the personal appearance by Philip Glenister too ;) Attachment 11568Attachment 11569Attachment 11570Attachment 11571Attachment 11572Attachment 11573Attachment 11574Attachment 11575Attachment 11576Attachment 11577Attachment 11578Attachment 11579Attachment 11580Attachment 11581Attachment 11582Attachment 11583Attachment 11584Attachment 11585Attachment 11586Attachment 11587Attachment 11588Attachment 11589Attachment 11590Attachment 11591Attachment 11592Attachment 11593Attachment 11594Attachment 11595Attachment 11596Attachment 11597 PS - September 27th looks good for us. Looking forward to it! :) |
Looked a good day. I'd have been tempted if I wasn't in Piegut-Pluviers, France, right now.
