My luck is that it will break something else

You're lucky to have it 5 times already. That's the way I see it!

Hi There,

Did anyone find a solution ???

I've got this too....Brakes work fine and always have done. The ESP button I don't think works though I've never really seen the need to use it (I did change the button at one point but that made no difference).

I'm not too bothered but recently i've got a big ! and the logo lit up when driving.....seems to last about 30 seconds then go away. Appears to be under acceleration rather than braking but haven't yet found an error.....Did 300 miles at the weekend with it only once and then today on 12 mile commute it came up!

Low brake fluid? As you accelerate fluid shifts backwards, level at the float drops and light comes on.

Hi There,

Could be. I went to check but found my stash was out. Bottle of fluid due today!
I'm still curious about resetting the module though as it seems to be working and doing all the important stuff, just some form of bit not set causing the error in VCDS and then not logging errors properly!

Well....Whilst it didn't take much in the way of brake fluid, I've not had the flash occur since, so I think it was fluid!

I've just had a bit of a play with the ABS with VCDS and an old version of VCP (5 or 6) - I tried logging in, resetting and recoding all with reasonable success.

However i've not been able to clear the fault. I think it is some sort of bit set in software rather than an actual fault with it. I hoped adaption / coding would sort it but NOPE.

I'm guessing a software flash probably would, but I can't seem to find how or where to do this apart from specialist shops / Audi

It's an irritation, but i'll live!

Hi Lee,

The ABS, ESP 5.7 in the D3, isn't flashable.

Really.....Could have sworn i'd read about the dealers updating the software on it ??? Am guessing that it's beyond the normal software and into VAS5054 / ODIS etc

When using ODIS engineering it gives a bit more info on the modules. I've attached a screen grab of a D3 Odis report where you can see the flash status of the ABS and a few others. Also there's no SGO files that match the software version for the ABS. So not flashable and no firmware available. It's probably a safety / liability constraint.

Ah. DAMN. Was pondering going down the rabbit hole with the various Chinese versions of VAS as I've always wondered what quite you could do with it!

There *MUST* be a way to reset it, as reading it's a readiness fault. It's quite how you get it to check and OK it's self.

Maybe i need to have a look at the scripts that are being run in the readiness check and see if they'res a way to modify them to get them to run or cut them down or something???

Irksome as it disables the ESP off button and means diagnosis is tricky. The thing still seems to fully work
