I'll try and compete in the other categories though! +++

Hmmm.. From memory:

Solar roof, Sat Nav, TV, Bose, Blinds, Servotronic, Xenons makes 7....

GSM phone and autodip mirrors were standard early facelift.

It did have electric heated rears, skit hatch & multifunction steering wheel also before we 'sported' it, which would have seen you pretty much on top...<doh> +++

I think the low spec factory cars deserve more pampering from
A8 Parts, mine came with nothing, not even auto dimming mirrors. Mind you Audi reckon I have a special order paint!

so, how would i tell if its a sport? Anything i should take a picture of to see its spec. The seats are not sporty figure hugging types, just big old armchairs in black leather, it don't got quattro, and being debadged it doesn't say what it is.....the documents just call it a 2.8 auto :/

Ok, so here are the extras that were paid for:

Special paint
towbar
Bixenon
Auto dimming
Heated front screen with heat & UV reflective glass (came as one item)
Tv tuner (Sat nav was standard on S8)
Handsfree GSM phone prep

Score of 7 for Darren.... not bad.. +++

Upping this score to 9 for Darren, as he also has Bose and servotronic... Only just realised that he doesnt have blinds though, which is usually one of the first options ticked.....

So, that puts Darren on 9, and Clive on 9.

I've also double-checked the S8 brochure, and Dolphin grey was a standard colour, so no extra points there for Clive.....

Its neck and neck.... +++

Right, so this is looking like a draw right now, so I have a proposition:

Under the normal rules, the prize would be split 50 / 50, however in the spitit of making it a little more interesting, I propose that we offer a 'double or nothing' option for the two competitors where we could decide the winner based on the highest value of factory options fitted.....

The winner of this decider would thus get the whole prize, and the loser would get nothing, but would get an itemised list of options fitted to their car....

Let me know your thoughts guys, if you both agreee i'll dig out the price guide as i've genuinely no idea right now whos would win.... +++

I'm happy with that Ian +++ (and havent, honestly, compared the 2 lists to see which might be ahead...)

Ok, so here are the results....:

On the road price of the basic car, inc VAT etc = £54760

Option prices:

Special order paint £940
Towbar £850
Bixenons £185
Auto Dip mirrors £490
Heated Front screen £350
TV Tuner £705
GSM Phone Prep £400
Bose £500
Servotronic £265
Solar Roof £510
Multifunction S/wheel £135
Enhanced Leather pack III £3995 (yes, nearly 4 grand... )

So, Darren comes in at £4685 worth of factory options, where Clive comes in with a staggering £7185 making Clive the winner of this compo....

CliveH 28th December 2009 10:22 PM

Yippee!

Thanks Ian +++

Well, it all adds up and amazing how much the Leather Pack III was!

When you then add in the FE wheels and rear entertainment system, the total cost of the car would have been pushing towards £70k...
