That's just showing off!!:)
I own a workshop in Newcastle that specialises in German cars, any age any model or make, I also spent many years restoring classic Alfa Romeo's amongst others so have a lot of welding and body repair experience.

No mate she's a Van Der Giessen ship. Once you’ve sailed on a Appledore ship there’s no going back. Lundy Shore and Fastnet Shore became legends. As you'll know there's normally a 25 year life expectancy Lundy Shore (IMO 7341647) was built in 1974 and is now called Amarco Lynx 40 years young and still working, you’ll not get that from the Chinese built ships, we’ll be eating beans out of them way before then.

That thin stuff is a lot harder to weld. And classic Alfa's

Hi Dezzy,

I had a look on Appledore's wiki

The only Vessel that I know is the Cherry Sands as my friend works on her.

Looks like the list needs updating http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Appledore_Shipbuilders

Hi chaps.

I live in Dubai and teach teambuilding and leadership skills to military cadets. Been out here for almost six years and I can only say I tolerate the place. Actually liking Dubai would be too much. If you've never been its just one big building site with the highest concentration of shopping malls in the world. Not content with that they have just started work on what is to be the worlds largest shopping mall which, when finished, will be almost the size of Yorkshire. I do most of my work in the Western Region of Abu Dhabi. This is the total opposite of Dubai - nothing but desert and camels.

Now, during the summer, the temperature is mid to late 40's. You cannot go outside for any length of time because its just too hot.

My one respite is during winter when it's cooler I spend a lot of time sea kayaking around the Musandam Peninsular in Oman. Absolutely beautiful place with some of the best sea kayaking I ever done.

In the UK I worked in outdoor education freelancing as an outdoor pursuits instructor, development trainer and expedition leader. The expeditions were good fun and I do miss doing them. I went all over the world in jungles and mountains everywhere. Great fun.

Cheers guys.

Steve
