Aye - I could probably do it, but my wife needs a car now so with work an everything it would probably take me another week or so to do this.....

Will discuss with SWMBO (I know what she will say though!!)

Cheers

Ainar's few hundred quid option sounds fairly tempting, even if its for only 6months lets say until something else possibly goes wrong or engine will give up.
If you can get the bits very quickly and dedicate few good afternoons for it it may be worth trying.
It would buy you more time to get a new car and help you save more cash without the stress.
Don't know whats better, buying new car before or after Christmas
It was quiet straight forward decision to this point, but that option would be tempting if I would be in your shoes, tough call.

I had a little chat with a8parts on your behalf earlier, explaining it was otherwise a lovely example with a nicely fitted RNS-E (by me lol)....

Can't promise mega bux, but the offer may swing a little further in your favour next time you're in touch... +++

Cheers Ian.
They did ring me back and upped the offer which was nice (I thought you may have had something to do with it....)
But I got a better offer so now sold (sorry Neil but also the RNS-E)

So I am down to 1 A8 again. Ah well was good while it lasted.

Thanks to all for your comments.

Cheers

Sorry to hear all your woes Andy, sounds like you made the best decision in the end, is the plan to upgrade yours and let your wife have the D3;)

Cheers Brian

That was the plan but she is now changing to have a car for her - she has been looking at the VW Beetle (not the brand new one) but we will see :)

Well - that's it then - deal done and Audi gone :(
But, the new owner is going to fix it so not all bad news (he is an Audi engineer at Leeds Audi).

So - now on the look out for a car for the wife.

Cheers

Sounds like the best/only feasible option: going to an enthusiast who knows what he's doing and who won't incur the labour costs (other than his own time) of bringing the car back to life. +++
