Off the top of my head, 4 months is my longest memory lapse in that category. :o :tuttut:
Long before any of the online checks of course.

M-A8 27th August 2014 07:47 AM

Joke.

How do you call a guy who can't recognize the colours ????

ScottD3 27th August 2014 08:17 AM

never seen or heard of the little electronic MOT reminders.
Good idea though.

Sarg, what's this on board computer thingy you got to remind you of MOTs?
That's a BMW only thing innit?

No idea on what you call a guy who can't see colours.

Is anyone watching Arrested Development?
I feel like I'm the only one.

On a flight, a man asks a beautiful lady sitting next to him: "Nice perfume. Which one is it? I want to gift it to my wife"

Lady: "Don't give it to her. Some Idiot will find an excuse to talk to her!!!"

>>>>>

Dear Lord,

I pray for Wisdom to understand my man; Love to forgive him; and Patience for his moods. Because, Lord, if I pray for Strength, I'll beat him to death.

AMEN

>>>>>

Q: What do you call an intelligent, good looking, sensitive man?
A: A rumour

>>>>>

A flight attendant on an airline's cross-country flight nervously announced: about 30 minutes outbound from LA, “I don’t know how this happened, but we have 103 passengers aboard and only 40 dinners.”

When the passengers’ muttering had died down, she continued, “Anyone who is kind enough to give up his meal so someone else can eat will receive free drinks for the length of the flight.”

Her next announcement came an hour later. “If anyone wants to change his mind, we still have 29 dinners available!

ScottD3 27th August 2014 10:06 AM

Haha, not bad.

Better than the colourblindess one. :)

Watch all of it, sad afterwards, but funny on the beginning

This ice bucket challenge is starting to get a little bit annoying now.
That video is hilarious though lol

M-A8 28th August 2014 07:53 AM

I know, it gets on my **** as well, but when I saw word fail in the title I thought this must be good. I thought not tipping the bucket properly over was what they described as fail but few seconds later my patience was Rewarded

Norretal 28th August 2014 08:22 AM

Yeah, it's getting a bit tiresome now, just get on with it and donate. There are some spectacular fails out there, some look like injuries were inevitable consequences.

You seen the one with the teeny tot from Birmingham?

ScottD3 28th August 2014 09:11 AM

Link please norretal.

I've been nominated twice at the moment and I've just giving money.
I think that will serve them better than a video of me being wet and £6.

I hope this works

Ouch!

Norretal 28th August 2014 01:20 PM

Ouch indeed, I've seen some buckets on heads but not THAT type of bucket!

M-A8 28th August 2014 08:13 PM

Coming back to my expired MOT case.
Finally got a set of 275s fitted today and straight after that I went to MOT station.
PASSED with no problems at all :mexicanwave: so finally I've got my girl back and I enjoyed every inch of tarmac today. So good to be back on the road.

I've had a very interesting experience today.
I went for my MOT to SMaRT Garage Services and what a experience.

Basically SMaRT Garage Services is a social enterprise run by First Step Trust. As well as providing a competitive, high quality service to our customers, we provide training and employment opportunities for disadvantaged members of our community to support them back into work.
Mainly they employ mentally disadvantaged people, some more serious some less.
Every single employee including MOT testers, would not be able to get a job in most of the places. But this organisation provides them with 'back on track' opportunity, instead of being rejected by the community and stuck at home, they go to work everyday like every normal person and they do a great job.
Guy in the reception wasn't the most chatty person as he clearly went through some serious problems, but overall a very nice guy and we did had a good little laugh. The other fella, omg, so funny and jokes did not stopped.

Premises very very clean, inc. reception, waiting area, toilets and the actual garage.

MOT testers like I've never seen before. Very clean (well, most of them are), very very polite, very careful with the car on each step, I mean very careful and respectful, protective sheets on the carpet and seat, just really really different. Well trained as well and knowledgeable.

Overall, a great experience and MOT was only £25 +++

PsYcHe 28th August 2014 08:51 PM

Result for the car.. and seems like an awesome place..

Do the 275s feel any different?

Richard, it is really nice to see disadvantaged people doing a cracking job, difficult to describe this feeling as I am a big supporter of this trusts.
I was already in the past employing mentally and physically disadvantaged people to do some work for me. It gives me I don't know, huge satisfaction I guess. A surprisingly nice day what supposed to be a very stressful one.

275s, yeah mate, more info here http://forum.a8parts.co.uk/showthrea...0170#post80170

Morning all,

Random story of no importance or possible interest but I was entertained for a bit.

Guy in work had a BMW 7 series (E6# Range) when I had my A4 B5 he seem to take great pride in telling me what extras he had that I did not.

This never bothered, cause there will always be more extras out there.

When I turned up with my A8 he came over and we had a chat about it.
Several weeks he would come over and ask questions like:
Him, "Does your car have duel zone climate controls?"
Me, "No......."
Him, "Really?"
Me,"......I got quad zone"
Him, "o"
And he'd walk off.

This eventually stopped and we never spoke about cars again.

He turned up to work yesterday in a new BMW 730iL and it started again but slightly different.
He concentrated mainly on the things he knew I did not have.
His 6 cameras, night vision camera, road sign recognition boot opening by waving your foot under the rear bumper and how slow my car is.
I had my chances to overtake him but I decided to sit behind him and relax at 0630 on my way to work rather than play silly bugger.

It is a lovely looking motor and some cracking extra.
I do like the camera system on it.

My monday was fun, followed by several episodes of arrested development and a movie or two.

What did you guys get up to?

Norretal 3rd September 2014 10:01 AM

Sorry to interrupt the conversation Scott, you seen this?

Just jump in, its cool.

I watched that earlier.
So funny.

Did you see the video of the voice mail that was left after a car crash?

This.

Flying Camera

2 Attachment(s)
I finally got round to flying (term used loosely) my Quad copter today.

I have had it for over a year now and after its first outing I decided the fully manual flight thing wasn't for me..

So I purchased another flight controller that is more stable  and meant for Ariel photography etc.

Well with doing up the house and work blah blah blah I only just got round to getting her up and working today and went for a little flight.

There's a few issues that need sorting like the shortage of ability, dodgy gimbal etc but its a start I guess.

That's cool.

Be great to use at the next meet for a nice sweeping video of the A8s.

I can't remember the name of it but I have been thinking of the Zenmuse myself.

Its the Naza v2 FC I have and its streets ahead of the previous one that came with the Ideafly4

Thats some car park you were at, if the Phantom came down there you would have got your ass kicked.

connor123 9th September 2014 07:47 PM

Small video I took the other day, footage isnt as steady as it could be yet as I'm using the Go pro Hero2 but the gimbal is customized for the 3. Its next on my buying list though!

Best watched in 720p!+++

+++ Looks pretty smooth to me gimbal wise, maybe just turn your attitude gain down a smidge to make the phantom a bit slower and smoother

Talking about airtraffic control, the company I doing some work for at the moment (building a met mast to float out into the north sea on giant concrete sinkable base) hired a drone company witha £4000k camera drone to take photos of the thing arriving in the Cromarty Firth. Unfortunately it (the drone) took a very expensive early bath in the Firth never to be seen again. A few seconds later an RAF Tornado came flying down the Firth at a few hundred feet. It was thought that the terrain following radar may have interfered with the drone's radio control systems such that it didnt auto return home on loss of signal....

I bet they were sick as a parrot, but unless they plane was blocking GPS there was no need to lose it.

Connor's and my copters have return to home using GPS on the event of signal loss and if I had 4k invested in a rig I would make sure it came back

M-A8 10th September 2014 11:17 AM

Brilliant toy Del and Connor, we must have them when we meet next time.
What would be even more cool, a rolling video, car following another car on the motorway or A road and one of them taking few photos and a video from different angles, but the question is, how fast does it go??

Delboy 10th September 2014 11:40 AM

Not at motorway speeds Marcin :tuttut:

ScottD3 16th September 2014 08:18 AM

Morning all,

Much happening?

Its all quiet over here.

Delboy 16th September 2014 08:27 AM

Just dropped the 8 off at Audi for a service, was rather disappointed to discover the Rs7 wasn't my courtesy car, I got a charming little golf with acc and some other toys instead.

ScottD3 16th September 2014 08:43 AM

A golf at Audi?

I thought they would always want you to have a Audi to help tempt you into a new car?

I personally don't like that cause then I get in to mine and want a newer car lol

Delboy 16th September 2014 09:25 AM

I know what you mean, probably just as well I didn't get to play in the rs7 because it will be many years before I could afford it.

ScottD3 1st October 2014 11:19 AM

No more tax disc from now on.
WooHoo.

Who went out this morning and remove theirs?
