What about the staff at A8parts? Have they booked any rooms yet? That's how I missed out initially last year as the list wasn't totally correct (i.e. rooms booked and not listed), but at least I did get one eventually due to someone dropping out.

Maybe a call to Maria tomorrow morning before calling the hotel.

I never go anywhere on vacation unless I know I will be able to meet locals.

One time I went to Siberia to meet a woman. I flew to Irkutsk, and took the train to Ulan-Ude, and stayed there for a full month. She visited me later for three months. We are still friends, but we haven't met since.
During my stay there, I only saw 6 tourists, I believe :)
