Guys,

How are we going to manage the 'spirited drive through the Lakes' when it seems that so many of us will have the speed limiter fitted (also known as SWMBO) to our cars?

notorious 29th February 2012 05:36 AM

I thought he literally meant "through the lakes". Think about swimsuits...

The_Laird 29th February 2012 08:20 AM

Ahh, bless the literal translation of those whose first language is not English! :)

The locals (and I'm married into a local family) call The Lake District 'The Lakes' (as, IIRC, a TV series some time ago which featured the church where my youngest was christened - youngest child, that is, not youngest lake)

BTW - how's the electronics work in the centre display for RNS-E coming on?

Conan_the_Librarian 29th February 2012 08:57 AM

Why do they call it 'The Lakes'; there is only one lake there!

HPsauce 29th February 2012 10:39 AM

Pedant. :tuttut:
(Bassenthwaite I presume?)

There are many lakes. Have I missed something here?

HPsauce 29th February 2012 12:51 PM

Yes, see my preceding post then check the names of a few "lakes". ;)

Jim, the research is still ongoing. We learned that RNS-D and RNS-E display graphics on cluster screen using different graphics languages. Of course, A8 cluster 'understands' only RNS-D language, so the decoder is being build that sits in between RNS-E and A8 cluster. No firm dates of beta version of decoder yet.
