finally it works

there was no problem with the sensor in the first place, after getting the bumper cover pulled forward , was able to see that the connector wasnt connected to the sensor, plugging it in worked wonders

took aout 3 hours in all , but saved 600 squid

Is the PDC sensor the same for the D2 and the D3? I don't have access to Etka/Elsawin whatever it is.

I need two for mine and if they come painted even better.

Don't think they're the same - do you know which you need? Think inner and outer are different but can easily check for you and post part numbers

They don't come painted so as an example, getting them done properly by a body shop they came in at 90 quid painted each for my a6

A lot of places will rattle can them and lacquer (if you're lucky!) and the finish won't survive a pressure wash which will look cack on your car

It's the two front inner sensors that have gone.
Why would the inner and outer be different?

Adrian E 10th April 2012 04:51 PM

No idea, but I know they are different on the front of my A6 - will check part numbers when I'm in front of my laptop and let you know. I assume they have a different range/angle setup or something....

Cheers Adrian

They are the same all around front and back +++
The support for them are different front and rear of the car
The brackets for the sensors at the front are same left and left centre and then different for right and right centre

4B0 919 275 A GRU Ultrasound sensor - primed

Primed they are about £67.29 each + vat but they are available in colours I believe

Thanks Neil,

Why are the D2 parking sensors more expensive than the D3 ones? Any difference apart from the part number?
The German site 47p2 posted they are about £20 each.
