1. Fiat 850 spider LHD series 2 with 903cc engine!
2. Lancia Beta coupe 1600 twin cam sadly written off in lairy slide into a transit on a diesel slick on a wet road (honest) the week before I got married. Driving A8 still reminds me of this car.
3. Fiat X1/9 first new car, still have it but now given to wife, seriously underrated great handling car - in the dry. Too light at the front for grip in the wet.
4. Audi 80 1.9 tdi estate. Introduction to Audi ownership. Sold at 150000 miles, original clutch, exhaust and turbo.
5. Audi A6 1.9 tdi sport estate. Second new car, still used by father in law.
6. Porsche Boxster S for the weekend and the two sunny days a year.
7. BMW 520 d Touring terrible run flats and rubbish gear change, economy couldn't match the A6 and the beemer 2litre engine had to be revved to get anywhere unlike the high torque A6. What was I thinking? Got rid within 4 months.
8. A8 3.0 sport 2006, 19inch alloys, hybrid TV etc. Can't think of a better car for the frequent trips I make to Alps, averages 40mpg cruising at 85 on autoroute. If only the electrical gremlins didn't keep cropping up I couldn't think of replacing it with anything else for its all round ability.
Cheers,

Jem

Mine's a surprisingly short list, I'm sure I've missed some out (probably a Rover 800 or 2 - we usually had a couple on the drive!).
Some are mine, some company cars (many of which I then bought at end-of-lease)

Though when younger I lived in Central London and just used to rent cars when I needed them, so haven't always had one (or 2 as for most of the last 30 years).

Mini 850 (still at school!)
Triumph Dolomite 1850HL (with overdrive) - only car I've ever bought new with my own money!
Austin Princess 1800 (no PAS!)
Ford Cortina saloon (2.0 MkIV I think)
Austin Ambassador 2.0 manual
Vauxhall Carlton MkII (forgot that, but it was 100% forgettable!)
Austin Montego Estate 1.6 (I think) with extra child seats - 7 seater!
Austin Montego Estate 2.0 + extra child seats (moved from previous car)
Rover 800 saloon
Rover 800 hatchback
Rover 800 hatchback #2
Ford Fiesta (for the station run and kids to learn on)
Rover 800 saloon #2
Ford Focus (still have)
Rover 75 Estate
Audi A6 Avant diesel Multitronic (very odd moving off, other wise OK)
Audi A8 D3 4.0TDi
Audi S8 (still have)

Updated to include several more I remembered - including a totally forgettable Vauxhall Carlton. :o

Dezzy 10th October 2012 08:10 AM

Vauxhall Astra Mk1 1.3
Layland Mini 850
Morris Ital estate 1.3 (I think)
Fiat Strada Abarth 130tc 2.0 twin cam, probably one of the best engines I’ve ever heard revving hard
Vauxhall Astra Mk1 1.3
Landrover 88” S3 2.25 petrol
Landrover 101 forward control 3.5 V8
Alfa 33 1.5ti (very good little car)
Landrover 88” S2a 3.5 V8 (still got)
Landrover 109” S3 with PTO compressor 2.25 derv
Landrover 109” 3.5 V8 petrol
Caterpillar D5B Dozer either 10 or 12 litre can’t remember it held 27 litres of engine oil that I remember
Ford Cargo tractor unit, 9.5 litre air cooled Deutz diesel
Mitshbishi Galant 2.0
SAAB 9000 2.0 lpt
Audi A8 4.2

I might have forgot some
I have, a Skoda Favorit van a rare tool and horrendously rubbish and dangerous to the point it was funny
