You know how it is. You go away for 2 weeks and you come home to a hot, sexy, hatchback!!!!!

I looked at renewing with Admiral, using Elephant's lower quote and got told by the Admiral guy that he didn't expect to beat Elephant, so wouldn't bother looking!
Swiftcover were nearly 200 quid cheaper! (£430 with a recent 6 points for speeeding ). I think that's pretty good for an 02 S8 (I have full NCB) compared to most other companies, who quoted between 600 and 800!
Have to say the Swiftcover thing was really quick online.

my renewel quote this year jumped up slightly to just about £1100 but after searchin around i got it down to £990. thats with "no points" and full no claims discount although i did have a theft claim two years ago. it seams that i live in an area that is high with insurance claims !

Darren,

I'm there with you.

With the crash at Christmas and not living in the most crime free area of the country I'll probably have to re-mortgage for this years insurance.

I think this year will hurt :-(

How much effect do trackers make on insurance?

Im expecting mine to be rather painful when it comes up for renewal in sepetember, so any way to get it down is worth it imho!

It's that time again :(

After the missus having a minor fender bender around Christmas time, I have just had the renewal quote.

:-(

I've lost 2 years no claims and the insurance cost has doubled. I'll try the insurance search sites but I'm not holding out much hope.

It would be cheaper for me to buy and insure a 'run it 'til it dies' piece of crap, put the '8' off the road, fix the broken bits and wait until the cost comes down but I can't bring myself to do it.

This is a black day.

Any help or support appreciated. I've got a major decision to make.

So...

If anyone has, or can point me in the direction of, a car that'll do 1k miles a month with minimal maintenance, is group 1 insurance preferably :) and not s h i t (is this possible )...oh and cheap as well.

Is there anything fast and comfortable and cheap to insure?

Or... do I pay the thieving feckers?

Not a happy day :(
